Water Safety Reminder 🚨

With warmer weather and longer days, more people are spending time near rivers, lakes, canals and open water. We’d like to remind everyone to stay safe and be aware of the risks.

Please remember:

Never enter open water after consuming alcohol or drugs

Cold water shock can affect anyone, even on warm days

Avoid swimming in unsupervised areas such as rivers, canals or quarries

Always supervise children closely near water

Stick to designated paths and keep away from slippery edges

If you get into trouble in the water, try to float on your back and call for help

In an emergency:

Call 999 or 112 and ask for Fire and Rescue if someone is in difficulty in the water

We want everyone to enjoy the outdoors safely – please take care and look out for one another.
